A4A Day Community Gathering 8/24 in NYC

To celebrate the four year anniversary of Anticapitalism for Artists, we’re throwing a community gathering in New York City on Saturday, August 24th and YOU are invited! This free event will begin with light refreshments and socializing, open up into a facilitated dialog with fellow artists and organizers, and end with a party!

A4A Day 2024

Saturday, Aug. 24th

4:00 - 9:00PM EDT

Brooklyn, NY (RSVP for location)

Our gathering comes at a time of immense struggle both globally and in the US, where the question of “the role of the artist” is of the utmost urgency. A4A Day aims to create a space to find joy in the midst of resistance, make connections with other artists/organizers, and prepare ourselves for the work ahead of us. Our facilitated conversation will be a time to strategize over pertinent questions about the rise of fascism, how to develop solidarity locally and internationally, and raise consciousness around how art and cultural work can help shape our liberation.

As with all our events, any self-identified artist (regardless of professional status) is welcome to attend. Whether you’ve been to an A4A event or not, this will be a great chance for artists of all backgrounds to make valuable connections and social bonds through political consciousness.

RSVP for location and more info. Please note space is limited, and RSVP’s are good for one individual only (no +1’s).

Note on covid & accessibility: This event will be held primarily outdoors where masks are not required. If it rains, the event will move indoors at the same location where masks will be required. This space is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, at a three story walk up. If you have any additional access needs or questions please contact us.
