Membership Tiers & Definitions
Our events and offerings are free and open to any self-identifying artists. We define artists as anyone who has an artistic practice, regardless of ability, professional status, or prestige. As a community, we collectively agree to stand on the principles of overcoming racial capitalism, heteropatriarchy, settler-colonialism, and imperialism, as well as transformative learning rooted in cooperation. Once you have attended an event or offering, you are welcome to apply to become a member of our community —
COMMUNITY MEMBER:
At A4A, we define membership as being actively a part of and engaged with our community which, in addition to attending our politically-focused education offerings, means having a space where you and other artists of all disciplines can find opportunities, collaborations, inspiration and community. Membership is open to anyone who has attended an A4A event or offering, and is as simple as filling out our registration form. By becoming a member, you will obtain access to our member webpage and discord; you will be invited to our new member orientation; you will be able to propose new offerings and events for the community; you may apply to volunteer for A4A teams and special projects; and you may participate in member-only events. To become a member, fill out our membership form (currently on pause).
TEAM MEMBER:
Teams are the organizing layer of our community. Our teams include events & offerings, community, web & social, facilitation, and the coordinating team. Team members must already be an A4A Community Member. As a team member, in addition to your participation on the team, you will contribute to the development of the organization as a whole. Additionally, you can form working groups; you may apply for use of organization funds; you can lead membership orientation; and you can participate in organization retreats. Teams typically put out a call to members when recruitment is open, but if you are a member who is interested in joining our teams, please contact anticapitalismforartists@gmail.com for a conversation to learn more.
